Love That Changes Everything

Love That Changes Everything – 555 Devotional
Introduction to the 555 Process
This week, we are focusing on the love of Jesus—a love that sees, serves, sacrifices, and transforms. Each day, spend:
  • 5 minutes in Scripture
  • 5 minutes journaling
  • 5 minutes in prayer
May this time help you experience the love of Jesus and reflect it to others.

Monday: A Love That Serves

Scripture: John 13:12-15
"When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. ‘Do you understand what I have done for you?’ he asked them. ‘You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.’"

Jesus, the Son of God, humbled Himself to serve His disciples. Love is not just an emotion; it’s an action that often requires us to put others first. True love serves, even when it’s inconvenient.

Journal Prompts:
  • Who in your life needs to be served today?
  • What holds you back from serving others with humility?
  • How can you show love through service this week?

Prayer Prompts:
  • Ask God to give you a humble heart that seeks to serve.
  • Pray for opportunities to show love through action.
  • Thank Jesus for the example of humility He demonstrated.

Tuesday: A Love That Sees the Broken
Scripture: Luke 7:13-15
"When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, ‘Don’t cry.’ Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, ‘Young man, I say to you, get up!’ The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother."

Jesus saw the widow’s pain and responded with compassion. Real love notices those who are struggling and does something about it. Love moves beyond words into action.

Journal Prompts:
  • Who in your life needs to be seen and cared for right now?
  • Have you ever felt unseen? How did God meet you in that moment?
  • What practical step can you take to love someone who feels forgotten?

Prayer Prompts:
  • Pray for eyes to see the hurting and broken around you.
  • Ask God to make you compassionate and courageous in responding to others’ needs.
  • Lift up specific people who are struggling and ask God to meet them where they are.

Wednesday: A Love That Sacrifices
Scripture: Luke 23:34
"Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.’ And they divided up his clothes by casting lots."

Love isn’t always easy. Sometimes, love means forgiving when it hurts, giving when it costs, and choosing to love even when it’s undeserved. Jesus loved us enough to lay down His life—that’s the kind of love He calls us to.

Journal Prompts:
  • What is the hardest part of sacrificial love for you?
  • Is there someone you need to forgive or love sacrificially?
  • How can you follow Jesus' example and love even when it’s difficult?

Prayer Prompts:
  • Ask God to give you strength to love sacrificially.
  • Pray for the ability to forgive those who have hurt you.
  • Thank Jesus for His ultimate sacrifice on the cross.

Thursday: A Love That Walks With Us

Scripture: Luke 24:30-31
"When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight."

The two disciples on the road to Emmaus were discouraged and confused, yet Jesus walked with them, taught them, and revealed Himself to them. Sometimes we don’t see Him at work, but He is always near.

Journal Prompts:
  • Have you ever felt alone in your faith journey?
  • Looking back, can you see how Jesus was walking with you even when you didn’t recognize Him?
  • How can you walk alongside someone else and show them Jesus’ love?

Prayer Prompts:
  • Ask God to open your eyes to His presence in your life.
  • Pray for faith when you don’t feel Him near.
  • Lift up someone who is struggling in their faith—pray that they would experience Jesus walking with them.

Friday: A Love That Defines Us
Scripture: John 13:35
"By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Jesus didn’t say people would recognize His followers by their knowledge, religious practices, or moral behavior—but by their love. The way we love others is our greatest testimony.

Journal Prompts:
  • When people look at your life, do they see the love of Jesus?
  • In what areas of your life do you struggle to love others well?
  • What’s one intentional way you can show Christ-like love this week?

Prayer Prompts:
  • Pray that your life would reflect Jesus’ love to the world.
  • Ask God to help you love beyond convenience.
  • Commit to one act of love this week that points others to Christ.

Closing Thoughts

Love isn’t just an idea—it’s an action. Jesus showed us a love that serves, sees, sacrifices, walks with us, and transforms. Now, He calls us to do the same.
Who will you love this week?
Who will see Jesus through you?
