Our Core Values: Living the Mission Together

These values define who we are as a church, how we follow Jesus, and how we live out His mission together. At Rise Church, we are committed to being a community that reflects Christ in all we do—faithfully, generously, and courageously.
Jesus-Centered
“And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent” (Colossians 1:18).

Jesus is our foundation—everything flows from Him. He is at the center of all we do, from our ministries to our worship and outreach. This Scripture reminds us that Jesus isn’t just one part of our faith—He’s the reason for everything. Without Him, we would lose our purpose. His presence transforms us from just a gathering to a living expression of His love. This value keeps us focused on Christ as our ultimate example and our reason for being.
Biblically-Rooted
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

We believe the Bible is God’s living Word, meant to shape, correct, and guide every part of our lives. Scripture isn’t just a reference book; it’s the foundation of our faith, giving us wisdom and direction for how we live, worship, and grow. This verse reminds us of the importance of teaching and applying God’s Word, both as individuals and as a church. That’s why we’re intentional about grounding everything we do—from sermons to discipleship groups to our personal lives—in the truth of Scripture.
Discipleship-Driven
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20).

Discipleship is a command, not an option. Jesus’ last words to His followers were a call to “go and make disciples.” This drives our commitment to not only reach new believers but to deepen the faith of those who follow Him. We believe discipleship happens in relationships and community, as we teach, learn, and grow together. At Rise Church, discipleship is at the heart of everything we do—from equipping leaders to walking alongside others as we grow in faith together.
Community-Focused
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers” (Acts 2:42-47).

The early church gives us a powerful example of what true community looks like—gathering, worshiping, and sharing life together. At Rise Church, we’re inspired by this model to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels they belong. Our fellowship isn’t just social—it’s spiritual. It’s about supporting each other, praying together, and growing as one body in Christ.

We live this value by building strong connections through small groups, shared meals, worship, and serving together. Community is at the core of who we are, and it’s how we grow closer to God and to each other.
Generosity-Fueled
“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

Generosity is part of who we are because it reflects God’s generosity toward us. This Scripture reminds us that giving should come from the heart, with joy, not out of obligation. At Rise Church, we give because God gave first—freely, abundantly, and with love.

Generosity fuels our ministries, outreach, and mission work, allowing us to share resources, serve needs, and extend kindness without expecting anything in return. Whether it’s giving time, talents, or resources, we believe generosity is a privilege and a reflection of our faith in action.

Courageous Living
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).

God calls us to live boldly, stepping out in faith even when it feels risky or uncomfortable. Courageous living means trusting God in the unknown and daring to act in faith, even when it challenges us or goes against the culture around us.

At Rise Church, we live this out by encouraging boldness in sharing our faith, serving our community, and supporting mission work both locally and globally. This verse reminds us that God’s presence empowers us to be strong and courageous, knowing that He goes with us every step of the way.

Our Core Beliefs

About God
If you’re new to church, welcome! We know stepping into a new community can feel a little overwhelming, especially when it comes to understanding the beliefs that guide us. At Rise Church, we value transparency and want to share the core truths that shape everything we do. These beliefs aren’t just ideas—they’re the foundation for a life transformed by God’s love. Rooted in Scripture, they guide how we live, worship, and grow as a church family.
About Mankind
Every human being is created in God’s image, uniquely designed to reflect His love, creativity, and character. We are the pinnacle of God’s creation, made for a deep relationship with Him. But because of sin—a brokenness that affects all of us—we are separated from God. This separation leaves us longing for meaning, hope, and reconciliation with the One who created us (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:2). Despite this, God’s love for us never changes, and He made a way for us to be restored.
Our Eternity
God created us for eternity, and the choices we make in this life have eternal significance. Every person will spend eternity in one of two places: in heaven, united with God through forgiveness and salvation, or in hell, separated from God by sin. Heaven is the perfect home God has prepared for those who trust in Him, where we’ll experience His joy and presence forever. Hell, on the other hand, is eternal separation from God, where His love and presence are absent, and people experience the full weight of sin’s consequences (Matthew 25:46; John 3:16; Romans 6:23).
These truths are hard to hear, but they remind us of the urgency of God’s invitation to every person: to choose life, forgiveness, and joy in Him.
Who Is Jesus Christ?
Jesus Christ is the heart of our faith. He is the Son of God, fully God and fully man, co-equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus came to earth, miraculously born of the Virgin Mary, and lived a perfect, sinless life. Out of His great love for us, He died on the cross to take the penalty for our sins. But His story didn’t end there—He rose from the dead, conquering sin and death so that we could be reconciled to God.
Today, Jesus is our advocate and mediator with the Father, offering us His grace and love. One day, He will return as the King of Kings to make all things new and reign forever (Luke 1:34-35; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Timothy 2:5; Revelation 19:16).
Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God—it’s not something we can earn through good deeds or personal effort. It’s something we receive through faith in Jesus Christ. When we trust in Him, God forgives our sins, restores our relationship with Him, and begins a transformational work in our lives. He invites us into a life of freedom, joy, and purpose.
This gift of salvation is available to everyone, no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done. It’s God’s invitation to leave behind guilt, shame, and brokenness, and to step into a new life of hope and grace (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 6:23; Philippians 1:6).
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is God’s presence with us today. From the moment we place our faith in Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes to live within us. He is our constant companion, guiding us, comforting us, and giving us the power to live in a way that honors God. He opens our hearts to understand God’s truth, strengthens us when we feel weak, and grows in us the fruit of a life that reflects God’s love.
The Holy Spirit also equips us to face life’s challenges with peace and courage and helps us serve others with joy. He’s not just an abstract idea—He’s personal, real, and actively working in and through us every day (John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:25).
The Bible
We believe the Bible is God’s Word, a timeless and divine message written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is trustworthy and without error, containing everything we need to know about who God is, who we are, and how we can live in a relationship with Him.
Through the Bible, God speaks directly to our hearts, giving us wisdom, encouragement, and direction for every season of life. At Rise Church, we love and cherish the Bible because it reveals the heart of God and has the power to transform us when we read it, trust it, and apply it (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
