Reflection Questions
Unexpected Circumstances:
What significant life changes or unexpected hardships have you experienced? How did these events shape your faith journey?
In Esther's story, we see God work through even the worst of circumstances. Can you see similar patterns in your own life? Journal about any specific examples.
Prayer & Fasting:
Describe your current prayer life. Do you have consistent practices? Does it feel mostly routine or deeply connected?
Consider incorporating fasting into your prayer time (consult your doctor if you have health concerns). Write down any insights or feelings about how this might deepen your relationship with God.
God-given Purpose:
"Perhaps you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this." (Esther 4:14) What does this statement stir within you?
Do you feel a sense of purpose in your life? Is there something specific God might be calling you toward? Journal your honest thoughts, even if they feel unsure.
Overcoming Fear:
Where do fear and doubt tend to surface in your life? (Relationships, career, health, etc.)
How can you actively combat fear with Scriptural truths? Choose 2-3 Bible verses about God's faithfulness and courage. Write them out as reminders to revisit often.
Unseen Providence:
Take time to prayerfully look back on your life journey. Identify moments where you can now sense God's guidance, even if it was hidden at the time.
How does remembering God's past faithfulness increase your confidence and courage for the present and the future?
Application:
Based on your reflections, is there a specific area where God is inviting you to step out in bolder faith? It might be something internal (surrendering a fear) or external (initiating that conversation you've been avoiding). Write down a simple, actionable step you will take this week.
Closing Prayer: Spend time thanking God for His faithfulness in the past. Ask for the wisdom to recognize His hand in your life and surrender your fears to Him. Confess where you need more trust, and ask for the courage to live a life that reflects a bold faith in His goodness and power.
Remember: Journaling your reflections throughout this process can be a powerful way to track your spiritual growth. Feel free to revisit these questions and revisit the story of Esther often.
