EASTER AT RISE CHURCH!

The Family of God

555 Devotional: Family of God

Welcome to the "Family of God" devotion series! Over the next five days, we’ll explore what it means to belong to God’s family. Through Scripture, reflection, and prayer, we’ll discover the unique roles we each play, the love that binds us, and the commitment we have to one another as brothers and sisters in Christ.
In God’s family, no one is alone. We each have a place, a purpose, and a role that strengthens the whole. This series will help us understand our belonging, our unique contributions, and the beauty of a family built on love, support, and unity. Each day, we’ll spend 5 minutes in Scripture, 5 minutes journaling, and 5 minutes in prayer—growing in our understanding and embracing our place in God’s family.
As you start this journey, ask God to open your heart to the depth of connection and purpose He has for you. Let’s grow stronger together as we embrace our roles, lift each other up, and live out what it means to be the family of God.

Day 1: We Belong in God’s Family

Scripture (5 Minutes):
Read: Ephesians 2:19-22
  1. Begin by reading the passage slowly and intentionally.
  2. Re-read verse 19. Reflect on the words “fellow citizens” and “members of his household.” What does it mean to you to be part of God’s household?
  3. Spend the remaining time asking God to help you grasp the depth of what it means to belong to His family.

Journaling (5 Minutes):
Prompt: What does it mean to you to belong to God’s family?
Reflect on your sense of belonging. How does being a part of God’s family impact how you see yourself and others?

Prayer (5 Minutes):
Thank God for including you in His family and giving you a place to belong. Ask Him to show you how to make others feel welcomed and valued.

  2. Re-read verses 17-18 and consider why God designed the church this way, with different roles and gifts.
  3. Ask yourself, “What role do I play in God’s family?” Allow God to speak to you about the unique way He has gifted you.

Consider practical ways you can demonstrate Christ’s love. Is there someone God is calling you to encourage or support?
