We Are Made For Each Other

We Are Made For Each Other

Welcome to the 555 Devo, an extension of our "Community" sermon series at Rise Church. This devotional is designed to deepen your understanding of God’s plan for community through daily engagement with Scripture, reflection, and prayer. Each session focuses on a different aspect of biblical community, providing insights and practical applications to enrich your relationships and strengthen our church family.

Over the next five days, you are invited to spend 15 minutes each day—5 minutes reading Scripture, 5 minutes journaling your reflections, and 5 minutes in prayer. This structured approach helps you explore God’s Word, apply it personally, and seek His guidance in prayer. By committing this short amount of time each day, you can significantly enhance your spiritual growth and connection with others.

Join us as we explore the power of community rooted in Christ, and discover how to live out the calling to be in fellowship as God intended. We believe these 15 minutes a day can transform not only your spiritual life but also our collective experience as a church family.

Monday: Created for Fellowship
Scripture: Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 - "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow."

Journaling Prompt: Reflect on a time when someone helped you through a difficult moment. How can you be that person for someone else in your community this week?

Prayer Prompt: Ask God to show you who needs your support this week and to give you the opportunity and wisdom to uplift them.

Tuesday: Unity in Christ
Scripture: Colossians 3:13-14 - "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."

Journaling Prompt: Write about a recent situation where forgiveness could have led to greater unity. What steps can you take to foster forgiveness and love in your interactions?

Prayer Prompt: Pray for the grace to forgive as you have been forgiven and for love to be the bond of unity in your community.

Wednesday: Love in Action

Scripture: John 13:34-35 - "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

Journaling Prompt: Consider ways you can show Christ-like love to others in your community. What specific actions can you take this week to demonstrate this love?

Prayer Prompt: Ask God to help you love others as Jesus loves us, visibly showing that love through your actions and words.

Thursday: Bearing Each Other’s Burdens
Scripture: Galatians 6:2 - "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."

Journaling Prompt: Think of someone in your community who is carrying a heavy burden. What practical steps can you take to help ease their load?

Prayer Prompt: Pray for the strength and compassion to bear the burdens of others and for the discernment to see where your help is needed most.

Friday: Encouraging One Another
Scripture: Hebrews 10:24-25 - "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Journaling Prompt: Write about the importance of encouragement in your life. How can you actively encourage someone this week, and what difference might it make in their life?

Prayer Prompt: Ask God to help you be an encourager in your community, finding ways to motivate others toward love and good deeds.
